Unexpected surprise in our Pocket Park

The magnificent seven worked very hard at the last Work Party clearing very large sawn-off branches, trimming overhanging branches along the path and clearing litter as well as cutting back some nettles. Many thanks to all involved for your efforts. The Conservation Volunteers working on the new section of path at the top end have had some delays in the delivery of materials, but hopefully the work will continue on Thursday. In the meantime, they have made good progress clearing grass and weeds from the rest of the paths.

I had a nice surprise last Sunday to find that the Council had replaced the rotting bridge to the right of the pond, which now has both sides enclosed and has been evened up with the level of the path to make access easier for mobility scooters.

Our next event is the Pond Dipping Workshop with the Wildlife Charity ‘Froglife’ on Saturday 5th August 2-4pm meeting by the pond.
