What’s happening in Rectory Farm Pocket Park in 2014?

We are pleased to report that we had a successful Annual General Meeting last Saturday. Tim Ward from the Public Art Project brought his designs along for us to see. We discussed details of locations of bridge & signs and the photos & information to be included on them.

We have copies of designs for us to share at the next Resident’s Association meeting which will be at the Rectory Farm Community Centre on Tuesday, February 18th at 7:30pm. Please come along and see them…

Here’s a preview of the designs:

Download them full size here: Page 1, Page 2, Page 3, Page 4

In the summer we hope to put on a children’s activity in the Pocket Park as we have done in the past couple of years. Keep checking this blog for updates as we will be asking you to choose the activity with a vote!

We’ll also be planning regular work-parties to keep the park tidy, planting, weeding paths etc…. Please have a look at the Provisional Diary. The first one is March 1st 2-4 pm.

We love to see all ages & stages using the Pocket Park & any help is appreciated. If you’d like to know more or join the Pocket Park Group do contact us, or come along to one of our events.

Public Artwork – A Pocket Park Christmas Update

Normally the Pocket Park takes a break for the winter, but this year we’ll keep blogging updates with the development in the Public Art Project that we let you know about a few weeks ago.

Pocket Park Winter

Tim Ward was selected as the artist to do the work (thanks to everyone who voted here) and he has been busy meeting with the various community groups, Rectory Farm Primary, the Residents Association, Over 55s and others as well spending time in the Pocket Park.

Tim’s come up with some ideas which he shared in this report here & a map here. Please have a look and give your comments as Tim will be keen to have them as it will help him in his designs.

Have a Merry Christmas from the Pocket Park Group, See you in the New Year.
